"I AM REVEALING THE SECRET TO SOUNDING LIKE YOUR FAVORITE JAZZ PIANIST ON RECORDINGS IN MY NEW PROGRAM... THE JAZZ SERIES"

Dear Friend:

In order to sound like all of the pianists you most admire, you must arm yourself with knowledge. That is, you must build a foundation, and learn what they already know - chords, voicings, progressions, licks, ideas, and much more. And, you must learn to play all of these things the same way they are playing them. Therefore, I have created a private individualized piano and keyboard lesson program specializing in jazz, on CD called The Jazz Series. This course is very thorough and challenging, but easy to understand. In this series, I personally record each lesson. Therefore, each lesson is personally tailored to meet your individual needs.

What will I learn in the Jazz Series?

In the Jazz series, you will learn everything that you hear professional jazz pianists playing on recordings. The real "meat and potatoes" of Jazz Piano Playing comes from recordings, not books. Therefore, I will be teaching you how to get the same sound that you hear on recordings. Some of the material I will be teaching you includes:

1. Chords and Voicings (Most chords you hear on albums are played with 2 hands, not 1 hand like you see in most music books.)
a) Major 7ths,Dominant 7ths, Minor 7ths, Half-Diminished 7ths, Diminished 7ths
b) Chords that have 9ths, 11ths, and 13ths
c) Altered chords with b5,#5,b9,#9,#11
d) Rootless and Modern Voicings (including voicings in 4ths)
2. "Hip" Rhythms being played on recordings
3. Runs
a) Cycle of 4ths run
b) Blues Scale runs
c) basic modes for improvisation - ionian, dorian, phrygian, lydian, mixolydian, aeolian, and locrian
d) scales used on diminished and augmented chords
e) How to solo on the chord changes of a tune
4. The 4 "sets of changes" that all Jazz Musicians know how to play
a) 12 Bar Blues
b) New York Blues (Bebop Changes)
c) "Rhythm" changes
d) Minor Blues
5. Chord Progressions and Substitutions
a) Progressions known by all jazz musicians
b) Variations on each progression
c) Combinations used by all of the "Great Players"
d) Tritone substitutions
6. Tunes with voicings included, and much more.

Simple and Easy

Due to the serious nature of the material learned, this course will be very intense, but I will present the material to you in a manner that is very easy to understand. I will include pictures of the keys on the piano that you will use to play the material. Charts for you to follow along while you listen to the CD will also be provided at no extra charge.

This course also works on keyboards!

Is the Jazz Series for Beginners, Intermediates or Advanced Players?

The Jazz Series is for beginning to professional players. All that is required is that you have a basic understanding of the piano keyboard. That is, you need to be familiar with all of the notes on the piano, as well as where the sharps and flats are located on the piano.

It is recommended that you complete the Getting That Pro Sound Course before continuing on with Jazz Series Lesson 3.

Being able to read music is helpful, but not required!

How much information is in each CD lesson?

Because I am offering this course on CD, I will be recording the same amount of material that would take several lessons if you studied with me privately in my studio. That is, you will be receiving a lot of information, but with the charts and pictures of the keys, it will be easy to understand.

What if I am currently taking lessons?

It does not matter if you are currently taking lessons, because the information that I will be teaching you is not available in your private lessons. Therefore, the material learned in the Jazz Series will enhance your private lessons.

How long do I have to participate in the Jazz Series?

The Jazz series is available to you on a pay-per-lesson basis. That is, you only pay for the lessons that you order, and not a penny more.

How long does it take to receive a lesson?

I can usually have your lesson available to you within 12 business days depending on the delivery time of the post office, and how many lessons I am recording in a given week.

A Note from your instructor:

Finally, you will learn chords, voicings, runs, tunes and much more that you have been hearing on recordings for years, without having to spend the next few years trying to learn them off of the recordings yourself. Therefore, you will accomplish many things:

  1. Save time by learning the material from the Jazz Series instead of spending the long hard hours getting the material off of recordings.
  2. You will understand the material learned in the Jazz Series. Therefore, you will be able to apply the material learned to any tune that you know.
  3. If you compose music you will be able to make your tunes better.
  4. You will be able to make the tunes you know sound more professional.
  5. You will know how to play chords that all of the Great players know.
  6. You will develop an awesome sound that will impress you, and your friends.

But, best of all, you will be able to learn at your own pace in the comfort of you home, and have fun while doing so. All you need to do is send in the enclosed order form. Once I receive your order, I will record it and mail it to you as soon as possible.

Best Regards. Charley Wyser
