When was the last time you met someone and really made a good connection with that person?
"Wow, he is really laid back and easy to get along with."
"If everyone were like her, the world would be a much better place."
Or, maybe the connection was not so good.
"She is really stiff and rigid. I'm glad I don't work with her."
"That person is very uptight. He only does things one way. I wish he would be more creative."
Anyway, you get the picture.
You are able to feel these things about people right away.
Why is this? Well, there are many factors involved, but one of the main reasons is
because you are able to see and feel the person's rhythm.
Like it or not, people are able to see and feel the same thing about you.
Next time you are with someone try noticing their rhythm. When you are by yourself,
try noticing your rhythm.
"Rhythm is something that makes life a lot more interesting."
How does this rhythm I speak of apply to playing the piano?
Well, I am sure you can probably think of lots of ways.
Have you ever heard a song that suddenly made you want to dance or move your body?
Have you ever heard a song that suddenly gave you a boost of energy,
and made it seem like you could do anything?
Maybe, on the other hand, you heard a song that completely sucked the energy
right out of you and made you feel down?
You have probably even heard a song that made you feel motivated and inspired.
Have you ever asked yourself why this has happened?
There a many reasons, but one of the main reasons is the rhythm of the song.
"In this instance, the rhythm of the song has made a soulful connection
directly to your rhythm."
Why is it that when you are working out and you listen to music, your workouts go better?
Why are you able to get more things done when you are listening to music?
There are quite a few variables in answering these questions, but rhythm does play a big part.
How do we apply this very powerful concept of rhythm to playing the piano?
If you look online, you will probably see lots of information on learning to play piano.
You will find all kinds of stuff on playing cool sounding chords, creating all kinds of runs,
technical exercises for making your fingers stronger, playing piano by ear, and much more.
But, the one thing you do not find a lot of is courses teaching and helping you with rhythm.
Why, because rhythm can be very complicated, boring, and complex if it is not taught correctly.
Maybe you have had experience with this.
When you take piano lessons for instance, you are taught to count the rhythm by using
techniques such as 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and, etc.
"With traditional methods of learning rhythm, you learn how to count the rhythm,
but you do not learn how to feel the rhythm."
Have you ever noticed that even if you are counting the rhythm it still does not sound right?
To take on the concept of rhythm, I have created a new
program called "All About The Rhythm, Lesson 1."
This course is exactly what the title says. Our focus is on rhythm.
"There are no Traditional Methods of rhythm taught in this program."
"The way you learn rhythm is by learning little bits at a time,
over a period of time, so that it becomes very natural to you."
Here is the way the course works.
"All About Rhythm" is a series of rhythmic piano courses.
Each program is its own lesson. A new lesson will be available every few weeks or so.
You will learn how to play songs that are fun and easy to learn. Most importantly,
these songs will sound good!
These songs will come from many different genres of music - Jazz, Funk,
Fusion, Blues, Rock, Gospel, and more.
Each song will only have a few chords. Some of the chords will be basic
chords, and others will be advanced.
Many of these chords will probably be new to you.
But, I will show you exactly what to play and how to play it.
All chords will be easy to learn, because the emphasis is on rhythm.
The easier the chords, the more you can concentrate on getting the rhythm correct.
You will be provided with the sounds of a band on the DVD to help you learn and feel the rhythms.
You will receive guided instruction on playing with the sounds of the band in the DVD, and you will get a chance to
play with the sounds of the band on your own.
You will learn how to play at different tempos.
So to recap, In "All About The Rhythm, Lesson 1", you will learn:, you
will learn:
 |
- How to think and learn rhythm naturally without using counting |
 |
- How to feel the rhythms you learn |
 |
- How to play exciting, new, and easy chords |
 |
- How to play chords to a rhythm in songs |
 |
- How to play with the sounds of a band |
 |
- How to play simple songs that have few chords so you can concentrate on the rhythm |
 |
- How to play in different styles of music |
 |
- How to play at different tempos |
 |
- And much more |
When you finish "All About The Rhythm, Lesson 1", you will
have a greater appreciation for Rhythm.
You will be able to naturally start feeling rhythms. The benefit of this is that you will probably start
to develop a few rhythms on your own.
It is interesting how that works. Once you start to focus on something new, then ideas usually
start coming to you from everywhere.
"You will really enjoy learning rhythms creatively, and not having to rely on
traditional counting techniques."
Best of all, I think you will really enjoy playing along with the sounds of the band in the
privacy of your own home.
Imagine yourself enjoying your music more because the
rhythms you are playing feel good!
See yourself being able to get to that new level you are always trying to reach.
Feel the fun you are going to have.
Think about that smile on your face once you are able to do something you have
never dreamed of!
